Crypto ATMs

Governor Pillen signed into law Legislative Bill 609, the Controllable Electronic Record Fraud Prevention Act, which goes into effect on September 3, 2025. The Act establishes requirements for the operation of cryptocurrency kiosks, including licensing, customer disclosures, fraud prevention measures, transaction limits, and refund obligations. These provisions position Nebraska at the forefront of protecting consumers and regulating technologies involving controllable electronic records. The Department of Banking and Finance is responsible for enforcing and administering the Act, which includes examinations for industry participants.
